Another photo taken travelling at 120 Km/h in A2 highway from Faro to Lisbon.

Alentejo is a south-central region of Portugal. Its name's origin, "além do Tejo", literally translates to "beyond the Tagus". The region is separated from the rest of Portugal by the Tagus river, and extends to the south where it borders the Algarve. There are four sub-regions; the Alto (High) Alentejo, the Baixo (Lower) Alentejo, the Alentejo Central, and the Alentejo Litoral. Its main cities are Évora (region's capital), Portalegre, Beja, and Sines.
It has 776,585 inhabitants (2001), and an area of about 26,000 km².
It is one of five Regions of Portugal.
The area is commonly known as the "bread basket" of Portugal, a region of vast open countryside with undulating plains and rich fertile soil. With very few exceptions all the major towns are mainly reliant on agriculture, livestock and wood.
Topographically the countryside varies considerably, from the open rolling plains of the south of the Alentejo to the granite hills that border Spain in the north-east. To feed the water needs of this considerable area a number of public dams have been constructed.
To the east of Portalegre is the Parque Natural da Serra de São Mamede, a fascinating Nature Park Area that includes charming medieval villages that have changed very little from those days. In the south near Mértola is another Nature Park Area named Parque Natural do Vale Guadiana. This is mainly uninhabited and a contrast to the other above. To the west, the coastal strip that runs from the port of Sines down to Cape de São Vicente is also a reserved area.
The Alqueva dam is today a landmark of this region.
Alentejo is a region known for its polyphonic singing groups, comparable to those found on Sardinia and Corsica.

OH! Vistor, A masterpiece you gather here. Very well seen and executed indeed. Warm colors, Sharp and neat. LOVELY SHOT.

Hello, nice landscape picture !
I would have prefer a bigger tree, this one is too small I think to be a great point of the picture. Perhaps you can erase it, if you are not against post-processing.

Also, I think you could crop in a panoramic way, because elements at the front are blur ; I post a workshop...

I don't know the camera, but the colors are very surprising if it's the original picture, there's much saturation ; perhaps it's because this picture has been taken late in the day ?

Bye

Hi,

Hi Victor,
Beautiful colours and composition, cheers for A2 highway!
Dalia

Hi Victor,
Your conditions taken into account this is very well done! I think I see a tad of motion blur in the foreground?
But the point is this is a great composition, with wonderful lines and colours to match!
The slowly rolling hills and the different crops together make up a very pleasing palette!
Greetings,
Pablo -

O "nosso" magnífico Alentejo...

Una luz preciosa que realza esta enorme variedad de colores. El árbol solitario queda bonito.

Hi Victor,

Considering the speed you were travelling still quite well detailed. I like the blur and the colours are good. TFS,

Precioso horizonte ondulado.

Olá. O contraste das cores, a paisagem e o próprio "espírito da foto" estão excelentes. Diria que para ficar perfeito bastaria haver um pouco mais de azul no céu...

The colours in this photo are excellent, the shadow on the more distant hills and the lone tree add to it. Nice photo!
