Old Nikon 35 mm shots.

I could never get the scanner to work properly using the scanner software and finally I tried from the graphics program and it worked.
This one was resized, sharpened and used the time machine of paint shop.

I remember seeing this castle on a dark rainy day which really stood out from the rest of the scenery and from a distance it reminded me of spooky B&W movies of yesteryear. The visit was quite interesting and I do have some shots taken inside and different views from outside which I will share later on.

I used Lisboa as the State, as I do not remember what it was, all we saw was a sign at the entrance to the city that said Sintra.

Hi, Dot,
this does resemble an old Lon Chaney or Boris Karloff movie poster. This turned out really well from a scan. I can't get my photos to look anywhere near decent with scanning. The B&W suits it perfectly and I like the way the wall is part of the left side of the shot. Very nicely done! Many thanks and warm regards,
Shelly

Hello Dot!

This photo really represents Sintra ... a magical place and impossible to forget (for me one of the best in Portugal). It´s a shame that the photo couldn´t be more sharpened ... but for those who think like me I have a solution - Go visit Sintra and try to get a better result :-)
Seriously, this is indeed an old photo but it´s also a great shot which is only more valorized by her age.

Great work,
Gosma.

Oh this one dates some years back but hey why not show us those interesting places you visited ! I think the scan is real cool , noiseless and pretty good choice of medium here. I tend to belive these old pictures are best viewed in B&W or with some sepia tint in it. I like this , the one place on our itinerary which we missed out , our vacation was one day too short , lol,
Tfs,
Carol
Lisboa is the state .

Hello,

Très belle teintes dans cette belle iamge, le NB colle à merveille, un image mystérieuse, il y peut-être dans fantômes dans ce beau château.

Bravo et amitié

Bonsoir Dot,

Nice timeless image. The PP treatment really gave it a nice vintage appearance. The soft light, the soft contrast and the light falloff on the edges really give the image the look of my dad old pictures. Great work and TFS.
