On Reflection
 |
|
| [Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note |
“Our observation of nature must be diligent, our reflection profound, and our experiments exact. We rarely see these three means combined; and for this reason, creative geniuses are not common”.
Denis Diderot 1713-1784 Diderot was a French philosopher and writer.
The quote seems to fit the mood today - why do we always feel the need to be creative geniuses, or is it just me?
I feel today that I am lacking in all three aspects but especially the last. Having no new photographs to share I trawled though my boxes of photographs (and memories) of last year and came upon this one. Its of a barregem near Portalegre, Alentejo, Portugal. I remember the weather was beautiful but I was new to photography and didn't know how to make the best of it.
This is scanned in at 300dpi with my epson perfection 4990 from a print copy (my cataloguing needs a lot to be desired - I can't find the neg!).
I have worked on this a little (cleaning up mostly) but can't make it any better, I know it has a colour cast but I can't seem to remove it. I would welcome your help and suggestions. |

Certainly some nice reflection there. Good composition. Nice contrast throughout. Scanning pictures does sometimes present problems but it is nice however. Neatimage a software program might help in cleaning it up a bit. Thanks.
