Another one taken in the port of Sesimbra area. This boat was standing in the middle of a small beach on the way to the dry dock. No other boat around. I liked the way he looked, alone, isolated, turning his back on the sea. I thought about this high-contrast photo, and took the pictures accordingly, that is, overexposing them, creating a lot of hard shadows. Then, when i began working with the result, this poem by Rimbad came to my mind, and this is what came out of it.
There's a lot of Photshop work done here, some of it too extensive to describe. But basically, applied a gradient map mask (black, grey and white, very close together for the high-contrast), stamped out a few seaguls that just wouldn't go away, and finally created a new fill layer white and erased through where the boat and the sand were.

Le Bateau Ivre, by Rimbaud

Hope your french is good...
I adapt my words to the subject :)

hi Nuxa,
nice portrait with B&W colours.
contras and sharpness are good.
but the detail was loos.
