A Estrelícia é também conhecida por ave – do-paraíso, por nos fazer lembrar uma colorida ave. A sua altura pode chegar a metro e meio e produzir cerca de 5 a 8 flores ao mesmo tempo. Possui uma folhagem verde-escuro que contrasta com as cores exuberantes das flores.
São plantas que gostam de muita luz e climas quentes. Nos jardins é possível encontrar flores todo o ano.
De um modo geral, pela sua beleza e elegância, porque dificilmente as suas folhas e pétalas correm o risco de ser danificadas por motivos ambientais, e também por oferecem muita facilidade no cultivo, as Estrelícias são muito procuradas para composições de arranjos de flores e decorações de ambientes externos e internos.
As flores, maravilhas artísticas da natureza, possuem cores incríveis e tem longa duração depois de cortadas. São flores de galanteio e indicadas para ornamentos requintados.

Bird of paradise:
Named for their similarity in shape to the heads of tropical birds, these have multicolored 6-inch flowers held inside green, pointed bracts. Their blooms are bright orange with purple and live one to two weeks.

Superb composition with great colors, I always loved bird of paradise and I like how you capture in on this superb blue sky, with an excellent sharpness. Very well done.

This one has been done/attempted very many times before, of course, with varying results. This particular flower lends itself to photographic composition in the one pose only and the end result is down to the skill of the photographer to get the focus very sharp and the lighting as effective.
You HAVE pulled off the clarity angle, as it is as sharp as could be desired. The 'punch' is somewhat slightly subdued and could be enhanced by saturation? Other than that, I like the leaf sticking up in the corner. THAT is very valuable!
