Beautiful poem and photo, and the poem certainly suits the shot. The soft lavenders and pinks give a sense of that peacefulness and melancholy shown in the poem, and the solitariness of the fisherman also emphasize that. Great point of view and angle to have the concrete ledge running at an angle across the shot, with the man at the side, giving good balance. Wonderful use of that soft natural lighting, and good soft contrasts to convey the mood. That tall fishing pole works well with the vertical framing and cropping, but in some ways it distracts because it's so dark compared to everything else in the shot that its being cropped at the top is somewhat awkward. Otherwise very beautiful, and I like the blue highlights on the man's right shoulder and the ledge upon which he is standing. TFS!

Yes, a very nostalgic image. I like the stillness and the peace. The aged person seems to say: "Grow old along with me / The best is yet to be ..."

Nice capture Carla. I really like the composition (especially the vertical line from the poole and the diagonal from the wall), the subject is good too, but the light is just remarkable. Well done.

Hi Carla, if his fishing rod is anything at all like the beach rods here in Australia you would have needed a very tall photo to include the whole rod. Lovely colours, very well composed and just enough sharpness. TFS,

A really beautiful presentation of your Photo Carla. I loved the poem (tear to my eye!) and I do love the pink soft haziness of the background and the layers of colour. The moon looks great. There are comments about the fishermans pole but I think its okay being dark like it is because it gives more contrast to the real subject, which is the man. I just think its superb and I love it
