[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
In Rio Maior, a village in the west of Portugal (near 120 km from Lisbon) there is a peculiar mine - a mine of «salt flower». The salt extracted there is different than the extracted from sea water. Otherwise Rio Maior is distant from the sea.

This kind of salt, called «flower of salt», inspite differences of the «sea salt» is very used and appreciated in food — I can even say that there is a real fashion in the modern urban gastronomy.

Ola José.
Very good composition with special colour tones.
Sur it looks different from the Saltfields of Santa Pola, costa Blanca. (I uploaded several pics from that.)

hi Jose

This graphic pattern is really making me feel like I am walking on the path and going forward. Very unusual but it is such a refreshing view of this salt farm.

Well done.

You really go out and find your subject, Jose, and I admire that. Well done.

Hi Jose,
At last a reaction from me. Have been away for a while due to my study.
You have crossed your border by taking this picture. It's very moody and has a great composition. The salthill is a nice marker in the landscape and gives a colored accent in a picture with dark, earthy colors.
Very well done. Congratulations Jose!
Ruut

An eyecatching 'natural abstract' with powerful geometry and interesting contrasts - the eye is drawn to that salt-pile and then back down through the water's reflections. A memorable image.
Rew

Hi Jose,

interesting image, different from the usual ones on salines. Good idea to highlight the white mountain of salt.

Well done!

Gio

I love the textured and rough feel that the salt traces give to this picture. Excellent broken line of the composition, and muted colors!
Best regards,
Diana
p.s. you know, you've got great talent! When I saw your intro picture for the first time I said to myself you must be a bohemian, an artist...but then it turns out you're a lawyer... and an artist!

Hola Jose
gracias para tu visita
y una foto muy bonita y de grande efecto
muy bien
hasta pronto
Lucio

Hi Jose,
Quite an interesting photo ... if this is far from the sea, how does the water get salty. I like the way you captured the leading path and the reflections in the water. Well composed! tfs
Cheers,
Renier
