| [Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note |
Well... believe it or not, this is a normal cat flea. it seems Gato has brought some 'friends'.
There whould be another category for this, 'macro' doesn't seem to do it justice... Maybe something like 'Goddam! That's Close!'
Macro was taken with 3 extension tubes combined together (13mm, 21mm and 31mm) with an additional macro +10 filter on a Sony 18~70 lens + remote shutter device to avoid camera Shake.
My extension tubes are from my old Minolta, so the contacts are not quite the same, and that leaves me without aperture control, (that's why the aperture is displayed as 10/10 in the Exif information) which means I was actually using f=3.5 - the widest this lens can achieve.
At such a close range, f3.5 gives you absolutely no control over depth. So this photo is the product of 2 different ones: 1 with the body focussed and 1 with the legs focussed.
the flea is about 1 milimeter big. Hard to go any closer without a microscope. I'll try to get a high definition version later... I wanna find out if it's possible to see his teeth! :P
(not brilliant quality-wise, but it's always nice to see tiny things enlarged to this extent... Also kind of sick, I know.)
