This one's very pleasant. I'd have been tempted to remove the "pinky" tones myself, but this is a minor detail in a shot which majors on form.

I can certainly relate to what you say. We go through the same thing at our place. Year after year we look to the fall and especially winter when all you hear is the snow falling and the odd birds chirping away.
Beautiful rendition of sand piled up as sculptures, it could pass as snow easily. So I wil join you in quality time.

The your explanation of the title was exactly what I thought about when reading it. The light has an odd quality that I cannot put my finger on. Is it cloudy with rays of sun piercing through (white streak of light)? Or was it the camera settings or PP that make it a bit dark? I'm experimenting a lot with light and manual settings on my point and shoot, and I'm curious.

Before reading the note, I thought, "Smile, the summer is over" meant "Smile, it's only going to get worse...(because of the winter coming)", but now I know it's not a smile of regret, but one of relief that you can go back to peace and tranquility.
