At the first sight, I believed that you photographed a skateboarder! :) This man seems physically too tiny for carving the marble!
I like the pose you captured with the gloves hiding his face! A good symbol of an artist an his hard work behind his artwork! Excellent colors and management of light! Bravo! Annie

I like the way you took this.
No doubt not wanting his face photographed you made him use his tools which are his hands. He is obviously a left hander as the glove is really worn out compared to the one on the left (which is his right). It tells a story.

Looking to these hands, I am motivated by my fantasy to believe that there are parallels between them, and the face. It must not be, but can be. There is a lot of latent significance in this capture.

Impressive shot with good back light
A japanese, yes, a hand worker sure , maybe shy, but nothing could have induced me in thinking he was a great sculptor.However "l'habit ne fait pas le moine" as we say in french (- the dress does not make the monk- )

Uma obra artística é o resultado de um porcento de inspiração e noventa e nove por cento de transpiração! Não sei se o clichet está transcrito literalmente mas a ideia está lá…

De entre as várias disciplinas das artes plásticas esta é uma das que mais admiro já que associa a rudeza da pedra à sensibilidade de quem a trabalha! É um trabalho duro no verdadeiro sentido da expressão como parece querer dizer Hiroyuki Asano ao mostrar as luvas mal tratadas.
