The Region of "Upper Douro" (Alto Douro Vinhateiro) is an area of the northeast of Portugal with more of 26 thousand hectares, classified by the UNESCO, in 14 of December of 2001, as World Heritage Patrimony Sight, in the category of cultural landscape and surrounded of mountains that give him unique climatic characteristics.
This region that is bathed by Douro River produces wine to more of 2000 years such as the world famous Port.
The long tradition of viticulture produced a cultural landscape of exceptional beauty that reflects his social, economic and technological evolution.
