Again and again, I must mention here that your capture have something always very interesting and touchy,and this one is no exception!

I feel a mystic look of this place, captured with perfect sharpness and from a higher POV. The serpentine road with tram-tracks and buildings, give a fabulous look as B/W version of the picture. Very well seen!

Hello Teresa,

Always happy to see the dramatic angles and steep streets of Portugal's capital city. The steep streets must have been built around the fabled seven hills which surround Lisbon. I love the lines from the bottom to the top. Your perspective and scale are right on target, and the b&w rendition makes it very wholesome and aged. As a matter of fact, this posting reminds me of one of the many photos from the "The Soul of Lisbon," January/February 2002, National Geographic Traveler magazine). I wish you well my dear. I really like this image.
The tones and the tram lines catch our attention initially so we click on the image, then the light conveys the bleakness of this particular area at this time of year (and day?), enhanced by the stripping away of any colour.

Eu amo a fotografia. A sua nota vai muito bem com ele. Eu gosto da vinheta e da vista da cidade da rua.

São os dias a ficar mais tempo agora, ou mais curto? Os dias estão ficando mais tempo agora.

A cidade onde eu moro usar para ser chamado de "Nap Town", porque tudo fechado em baixa de 5. A cidade tem crescido agora, e já não vai por esse nome.

Espero que o sol brilha mais em seu rosto para trazer felicidade e um sorriso!

I love the vignetting emphasizing the visibility of the tramway tracks. The pedestrians were also a must to create the atmosphere and give them room to move ahead .

Excellent composition - the street with its street car tracks leads the eye at a gentle angle from the bottom left to the top right of the frame. Yes, the mood is subdued, and that is enhanced by the b&w presentation and the vignette which provides a wistful feel. I like the repeating patterns of the row houses and cars. Your photos convey such emotion. Well done.

You portray Lisbon so well Teresa , your angle of view here is engaging my eyes to run along the length of the street , focusing on that bend there where some people stand about , oh Lisbon is so delightfully endowed with those little corners typical to old towns, this time is less people about thus it means more in that the sensation of solitude is heightened , the black and white renders this moody atmosphere with intensity ,well in fact it is no wonder why you shoot so often in this medium as it is the perfect means of transmitting your emotions in what you photograph , i live Lisbon through your eyes my friend,

I think your post treatment of this one is good, and it works well to draw the eye up into the frame.

I wonder if the crop could be better, maybe if you took more off the left and right sides of the shot to make it narrower, tighter, using more of the lead-in from the bottom left corner?

It also feels to me like it needs to be rotated very slightly clockwise, maybe only 1˚, to make the trees and verticals on the right hand side more upright.

Your photo is a little over-sharpened in places. See the bollards - and even the people - on the sidewalk to the left of the shot? They have white edges beside them - "ghost" lines - that result from the sharpening process.

Still, it's an eyecatching and evocative image. :)
