Photo taken in my gradfather garden.
Earthworms are scientifically classified as animals belonging to the order Oligochaeta, class Chaetopoda, phylum Annelida. In this phylum there are about 1,800 species of earthworms grouped into five families and distributed all over the world. The most common worms in North America, Europe, and Western Asia belong to the family Lumbricidae, which has about 220 species. Earthworms range from a few millimeters long to over 3 feet, but most common species are a few inches in length. Only a few types are of interest to the commercial earthworm grower, and of these only two are raised on a large-scale commercial basis.

Great macro with excellent details, personly I find the earth-worm quite disgusting without the details, but you managed to capture it with so much detail it's amazing !!

A great macro shot, the details are excellent especially the vein.
Excellent,well done.

I never knew there were so many different kinds of earthworms, in fact I always thought there was just one. It's very interesting how the earthworm is translucent and you can see through him, well done.

Biologist? Eurkkk... not specialy a nice creature, but there is worst. We see the long blood vessel over the intestine, which is nice. At the back end there is the clitellum (near the yellow band) where the sperm is produce and where are located the ovaries.
