[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
I took this by the beach near Portimão. It was the first time I shot fireworks. When we got to the spot to watch the show, the best we could do was a place with a couple of people in front of us. They were however so in awe at the sight of my tripod that they did not mind letting me thru to the front.

Camera settings:
Manual settings, with manual focus at infinity.
I used the bulb mode because I didn´t know how fast the explosions would come. I played around with the aperture untill a couple of explosions seemed correctly exposed. Then I just took lots and lots of pictures, experimenting only whith exposure time which is easy to do in bulb mode.
Its handy to have a zoom lens if you don´t know exatly where you will stand and how high the fireworks will be.

PP:
Cropped it just a little. Used levels to make the sky black, instead of a dark grey. A bit of USM.

Hi Pedro.... Hey great shot you have here.. Well done for your first fireworks shot..well composed and colourful.

Its funny when people see you with a tripod.. they think.. OHHHH hes/shes important.. and stand back and let you through..LOL. I experienced that when I went and took the christmas night shots of houses recently in Auckland City....

Fantastic shot Pedro, freworks are a very difficult subject but you managed to get a excellent result. Very well defined patterns of the explosions and great colors and overall lighting.
