Bastion Funar (or Roopers ) of Brasov is the first bulwark in the documents referred to 1416. Form hexagonal, the bastion had initially 10-12 m in height and was equipped with mouths drawing for mobile part. Brick flat springs, whose traces are seen today were built somewhat later. Bastion has suffered because of the fires from 1461 and 1689, the latter causing serious damage to the original architecture. Restored, the bastion Funar served as storage for materials. House, which sees today was built in 1794, the guild that have impound retrenchment. In 1894, the bastion has been sold with 2,000 fiorini, significant sum at that time . It was renovated in 2006.

Oana,
The lighting and warm glow on the wall is especially attractive. The diagonals from the ground as well as details of the turret in this vertical composition ought to be admired. Best regards...Danilo

dear Oana,
strange and charm orange light on the castle,
sandwiched still light pale blue sky and already dark green slope,
it is illusionary, and also nostalgic atmosphere,
an excellent image you took,
thank you,
Akihisa

Hello Oana,

Great nighttime photograph. Good exposure - not OE or UE. Good sharpness too. Looks like a strong building - well built to last for many centuries. Good POV used too. Tfs.
