Walking down the Muresenilor street in Brasov , one of the main streets here you will reach in the Council Square where is situated "Our house "(German Rathaus), an important monument of architecture of the city of Brasov, was originally just a tower supervisors whose bases were on the existing tower.
On December 23 1420 to conclude an agreement between the District Assembly and Country Barsei furrier guild on building our house. In this document it is noted that the guild had furs Brasov pass nine common "Barsa Country Province" to build vaults over the sale of a guild hall "granting justice and magistrate for meetings.However, because of the invasion the Turks in 1421, destroying a large part of the city and the city magistrate arrest, this project will be delayed.
The building was turned into City Hall as the city grew. Thus, the following statement about our house in Braşov appears in 1503, being referred to as "Praetorium.
Construction has known for years many changes, many of them are due to damage caused by natural events:
July 5 1608 - one hit the tower hit our house, the fire could not be extinguished until it was cast into the fire Friday, vinegar and milk;
* June 17 1662 - an earthquake affects strongly our house, the tower was going to crash at the rate of two thirds;
* July 24th 1682 - a storm powerful strikes again "tower trumpeter" (so named because a trumpeter announcing the passage of each hour);
* April 21 1689 - the great fire (caused by the Habsburg forces which besiege the city) destroys a large part of the building. After nearly a century, in the year 1780, ending the work of rebuilding our house in style Baroque around as you are familiar with today. Same time, the loggia in front, he added the famous emblem of Braşov.
City Administration to move from this building in 1876, a new building located in the Republic intersection streets and Mihail Sadoveanu.
In early twentieth century, our house would be demolished and replaced with a modern administrative building. This has been avoided only because a strong media campaign to maintain the old monument. Last modified architecture of our house took place in the years 1909 - 1910, when Baroque roof has been replaced by the current pyramidal roof with colored tiles. Since 1950, the building houses the County Museum of History.

Buna Oana,
