[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
Cheile Bicaz, or Bicaz Gorge is a 5 km long chasm cutting through the Carpathian mountains from west to east. Carved through solid limestone by the Bicaz River the canyon is up to 300 m in height in places and a paradise for rock climbers and walkers. A main road twists and turns and cuts back on itself several times through the gorge, in places only wide enough for one vehicle. It connects the Romanian regions of Moldavia and Transilvania and is under the protection of the Bicaz Gorges-Hasmas Mountain National Park.
