[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
.....When i finally arrived at this spot it was getting pretty dark , nightfall occurs quite rapidly in the mountains as we know , well it happened that i was halfway through on that mountain road ( still a long way to get somewhere big enough to find a bed that is ....on the other side), i had not even reached the top of the pass that i came upon this view of a small barn right by the road (rough by the way , oh very rough indeed ) I set my camera down on the top of a wooden fence post , everything is made out or carved of wood in this area anyway ( no lack of it either as you can see ) and made a few shots of the glowy sky and panorama of the unfolding fir trees in the distance , i particularly enjoyed the rolling mist between the rows of trees , i was quite impressed not so much by the colors in the sky but by the nice layers that made the hills as they became smaller and receeded in the distance , mist settled in between . There is no village here really but a scattering of some old farms in the countryside , the region is part of Western Transylvania and is called the Apuseni Mountains , an extremely lovely area i reckon , truly one of my favorite places in Romania and this was the last inhabited place before i actually hit the pass the next morning a few kms up the road .Rightly i could not continue farther that night as the road is not in the best of conditions as stated above but picturesque and photogenic it was very much indeed ! Oh yes i slept in my tent just across the road a little away from this little barn , A very cool night !
Iso 100 , f/3.5, 1/15 sec , not much PP on this one , a little sharpening and saturation was applied to the sky alone to bring out the color a little , framed and texted ,

Hey Carol, great to see shots of the trip starting!
This is really nice. .. as you said, I really like the layers too .. all the diagonals of the tops of the trees, with the mist between each layer. Nice to include the edge of this old barn, and the colors are really great (warm) too.

Beautiful scene, well-composed with wonderful light and mood. The layers of misty tree lines are amazing. The portion of the barn on the left gives one a sense of the majestic view from this spot. Outstanding landscape image.

Marvelous capture of Landscape with great colors of the sunset and indeed with superb details!

The colors of the landscape are so beautiful, taken with great sharpness and from a wonderful POV. The hills bring great charm into the shot, and the sunset color-tone, adds mood into the picture. I must say, it is a powerful shot full of harmony and feelings!

Hi Carol,

I really like the mix of the golds and blues in the photo. The structure to the left has interesting texture to add to the all nature scene of trees and mountains. The mist (fog? clouds) make it even more of a peaceful photo to me. Something about fog that I really like.
