[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
Most people come to Hunedoara to visti its amazing medieval castle (see my previous posts from here). But the view in the opposite direction caught my twisted attention also. The bleakness of the industrial landscape that has grown up around this old city over the last hundred years or so I found made an interesting subject. Tone mapped using Photomatix software.

Hello.
Good picture. I like the composition and interesting colors. This
picture reminds me my home city. Industrial landscape with many abandoned factories.

Hi Steve and Ioana,
Wow this certainly does look bleak and disused! Great compsosition, love the grey clouds, the furnaces and the red building in the foreground. Very moody atmosphere! Well done and TFS
Cheers Tina :-)

Hello Steve !

Contrasts are indeed very strong. Of course, being captured in early spring, greens, flowers , leaves, grass are absent. Therefore creating almost an apocalytic view wkith these ruins in the FG. A disturfbing but beautifully composed image !
Well done!
Robert

Hi,
I like the way you capture this image..low saturation..nice one

hi, steve
what we have here - and what you see - is a result of the great soviet way of thinking. people displaced from their life to do something else, etc, etc.
it's all gone now, we just have to re-invent the old ways, but I guess it's not possible anymore - the world changed too much and those ancient ways are long forgotten.
regards,
cal
