[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
I was up in the belfry of the Evangelical church in beautiful Sibiu when i took this picture, it was a pleasant and sunny morning , it's 9 am, i opened some windows and started shooting from my perfect vantage point in all directions, yes it's a 360 degree panorama that you get when you dare climb up to the top ( Oana you know what i mean.... lol) , because the church is well situated in the middle of a square in the middle of the town therefore the views are magnificient and i had a great day too so i made some photos of the red roofs of the surrounding houses and decided to go for some more 'intimate' shots , this is one of these , i waited a little for this cyclist to enter the scene , the morning light coming from the end of the street illuminating my person just fine i think , casting his long shadow behind on the pavement, i also like the architecture of this city very much , a highlight in itself .

iso 80 , 1/125, f/5,6 , played a little with highlights and shadows , realigned the vertical lines of the buildings , cloned a half person who appeared in the scene from under the red building to the left , contrasted a tad , sharpened and framed ,

Now this is nice! You know what makes this for me? The rider in the light below...it brings your eyes all the way down across the shot! Marvelous work, even more so as I am a rider!

Hi, Carol -
I really like the feel of this scene - the POV from up high looking down at the lone cyclist on the sunny cobblestone inside the canyon of wonderful buildings - a very European-flavored scene. I also like the interplay of sunlight and shadows. A minor nit - did you consider removing the two telephone cables in the upper left? Although they are very thin and almost unnoticeable, I might have opted to remove them. Regardless, great image.

Wonderful composition with a fantastic light. Romania come so interesting last times. Thanks.

Wow, great shot Carol. Yeah, you're right .. the architecture is a real stand-out feature of this shot ... as are the colors - I love the neutrals. and I also really like the repetition of the windows, and of course the lone cyclist on the street and the great morning light and long shadows. whew!!! lots to like in this shot:) Good job for you to wait for this cyclist... good timing.

Very good photo Carol : DOF, colours, compo, ...
You waited just long enough for that cyclist :-)

And yet ... LOL
I would post it in B/W because of the lines the houses make, the shadow of the cyclist, ...
You would end up with a different " story ", feeling.
Just investigating other possiblilities.
