ok, well i've been really inactive around here.
i ran out of any shots and i have nothing to photograph because the only thing i see outside is rain :))
we don't have snow around here :(

Nice subject Alexandra - but I think they're a few things that could improve this shot a lot..First you'll see how the bottom of the display is quite sharp but the top of the candle is definitely out of focus - the proiblem is the wide aperture of f3.5. Try using aperture priority and a slower shutter speed. Either mount the camera on a tripod or rest it on something. You could also use the self timer too to lessen any camera shake.This would also solve the second main problem which is that of using direct on camera flash - you can see the dark shadows caused by the flash behind the various leaves and other bits.
Maybe a plainer background would also help the image by isolating the subject a bit more..

Nice colours though, and good subject!!

Hi Alexandra:

Nice shot. I like the glow around the flame. I think the tiles provide a nice pattern for the background. It could have been better if you had eliminated the top right corner.
