[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
Some of you may know my position about the PP-work on photos - I'm not a great fan of it.
But I have to recognize that it is a challenge, and I take it...
Scanned an old B/W photo from the Negreni-serie, opened Corel Photo-Paint 11.0, and started to experiment - an almost totally new terrain for me.

The result: effects/artistic style/brush, changed to white with density 50
I was pleasently surprised about what came out, and I'm curious about your opinion.
It's my first attempt in this direction...

The camera was a Zenit Photosniper, I'll add it to the equipment profile...

I like the final result a lot, Janos.
the composition is great.
itīs clear for me you didnīt try to save a bad photo and you didnīt descharacterized it to the point one couldnīt recognize what is the image about: itīs still clear and recognizable (and still great!).
congratulations! keep experimenting!

Thumbs up for the processing, well done.

I got very suprised when i opened the thumbanil for this picture Janos. As isabel said, the final resuilt is great and itis also clear that this was a fine photo to start with. I think you should continue with the experiments, just for the fun of it, and then you'll see if you liek the result or not :)

Neither am I a fan of heavy filters and things like that...
From the thumbnail I thought it was harsh grain and felt it would suit your shot very well.
Opening it I found that it looked more like a carpet on which you had printed your image...with lots of hair on it, i'm almost getting asthmatic simply looking at it ;-)))

I think your shot deserves a second chance using a grain filter : with your Zenit "photosniper" it really is the kind of Check Point Charlie image, stalking spy like, we're only waiting for the Third Man.

In fact I think your thumbnail is better looking than the big image, but hey Janos, once again this is my own and single opinion.

I guess it is already good the way it is, without PP. I like the composition of the picture. Very spontaneous.

A great PP job, Joso, wonderful effect and excellent b/w composition, Very wel done. The closer it is - the better it looks.

I like the high contrast look here, and the point of view and cropping/framing is very effective. A bit hairy for my tastes, but overall, I like it.

Good idea on the effect. Very well done. I like how you added that special type of grain to the photo. Well done! Bravo!

Hi Janos,
Nice work and useful comments. I think with Photoshop we cannot do like this.

Hi Janos, I think this is interesting from a little distance, but if I look too closely I agree with Lukos that it seems a bit hairy. If I were to use those effects, I think I would make a separate layer with other effects and use that layer for the "hairier" parts of the shot. I like the effect of your effects on some parts of the photo, but not on all of it.

I really like Luko's workshop version of this shot. Very cool!

Thanks for sharing!

Erin
