[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
Hi TL Friends,

When I first saw this type of photography combined with digital post processing, I fell in love with it! OK. So that there are no misconceptions, I fell in love 1st with my wife Helen and then this! (^_^)

Now back to photography, I enjoy converting an image to B&W and then bringing back some colour. During my stay in Bucharest, I was walking around the HUGE park & lake called Herastrau and came across perfect “subjects” to suit this type of photography.

So, for this week only, I’ll be presenting you a small series of these photos which I’ve called “Dee Saturate” for you to enjoy!

DIGITAL WORKFLOW

1)Converted to B&W
2)Duplicated Layer & added a Layer mask
3)Using a brush, return colour to select areas
4)Sharpened
5)Framed

Ps. the photo may seem to be leaning to the right. Trust me, it’s straight!

Hi Constantine,
Excellent work, creative, artistic and very good PP work. The low level composition gives a more dramatic look and the DOF is great.
Well done,
Vassilis

Hi Constantinos,
What a microcasm in this isolated subject. Good concept and well executed. Pleasing desaturation. Best wishes. Danilo

love the mood here Constantinos :)
beautiful dark color tones
excellent PP work :)

Constantinos hi
Now I believe that Wonders can be created by rubbish.
It is an extraordinary composition. Low POV is amazing. DOF is great.
Thanks for sharing this UGLY BEAUTY.

Hello Constantinos...excellent PP work, once I master the settings on my camera I intend learning layers...choke:) Well composed and fine detail in the 'junk'. It has given me an idea anyway. The place where I take most of my fog shots now is tidal so you can imagine the amount of debris that is washed up. Fine effort Con, well done and TFS,
Dave
Many thanks for your comment on
One of Those Days...

Absolutely no alteration of settings for any of my fog shots...Auto works best.

Excellent work Constantinos,A very interesting picture with very beautiful composition on the picture, very well you showed felled me that it very, and your description is also super.
Beautiful greetings.
Janusz

Interesting, and very different for you! Reminds me of the beach at Galveston, after a terrible rain storm. Mostly mud, trash and the sand is pounded flat. The little bit of color seems depressing to me which creates a mood. I am not sure I like this type of photo...but maybe it's just the subject matter!....or I'm just tired! But YOU still rock!
HA!

I trust you Costas! Maybe!
Perhaps the “Dee Saturate” would be a good theme for the future, as it is something I really haven't done much of. And it is good to try something new.
I like this, the dirt and mess in the mud shows up really well in this toning. Well done,
Janice

Bizarre. Another disappearing critique. I previously critiqued this, but it's empty now. Oh well, back to the drawing board. Good use of desaturation with excellent sharpness. Tfs!

Hi Constantinos,
I like the mood and the devastated look created by the pollution and your PP work to add impact to this dramatic composition.
Very well done.
Luc

Hello Constantinos,

Beautiful visual, I like to do that also
I find beautiful most in b/w and one
small color touch in the atmosphere.
great composition.
Congratulations

Sérgio

tomorrow

Yassou Constantinos!

This is quite different from the Hellenic beaches (^_^), or Tunisian desert..

Our colleague brettf1 will certainly be more helpful than me to critique this one. But I must say here I like the POV and tones. But the water surface is too oversexposed. The title is barely visible.

But congratulations in trying something differednt!
Cheers! Robert

I don't get it, Κώστα... who's Dee ?
LOL. A 'raw' image to look at, but it's well processed. Don't you agree mankind is a dirty species, leaving all that garbage like this ?

Hi Constantinos

I love it
It seems you can take the simplest of images and turn them into beautiful works of art and this photo is a perfect example.

I truly admire your talent my friend
Thanks for sharing it with us ;)

Wonderful. Another thing I will have to try out one of these days.
Great work
