The macro of an October garden rose - young and fresh...
In strong natural light here were a few of my camera settings:
-Center Focused
-Exposure Time 1/1000 sec
-F/5.6
-ISO 80
-No Flash

Photo Editing:
Create new layer from original photo, apply rectangle selection on the left side then replace the slection with the bkgrnd color (CTRL+Bkspace).
-Mask the rose (except the petal in the back) - export in new layer (CTRL +J), apply a bit of sharpness (50%/15px) and saturation (+15).
-Inverse Mask - reduce background noise with median filter (11), saturate (+15)
-strike (divider)then remove mask selection
-Create new layer from original photo, apply rectangle margin selection then replace the slection with the bkgrnd color (CTRL+Bkspace). Apply effects on the selection (strike, outside glow) apply 70% opacity on layer.

Hello Daniel,
This is a very nice macro with good details and colors, POV and composition. I just wonder why you used a so fast speed shutter as this flower might not be moving ;) With a slower speed you might be able to catch more details as you can use a smaller aperture. Anyway, this is a very nice shot; I'm not crazy about this frame though as I think that even if it’s nice, it is a little disturbing. Thanks,
Claudine

Hi friend,
Everything is spot on in this capture: the focus, the exposure, the POV, the composition, the colors!
A wonderful image! Take care Ana:)
