[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
The fortress was build by a noble family in XIII century. Until XV century it's being donated to various families. When it was peace the number of soldiers in the fortress was not bigger than 12.

In the summer of 1514 the rebels of Gheorghe Doja attacked the fortress. The king of Transilvania, Ioan Zapolya, took the fortress under his command after he defeated the rebels at the gates of Timisoara. Between 1541-1542 it becamed the residential place for the Ioan Zapolya's widow, queen Izabella.

In 1552 it's being taken by the turks until 1595, and for a short time it was occupied by the armies of Mihai the Brave.

Gabriel Bethlen gives the fortress to the turks wich will remain under their occupation until 1688.

It was official abandoned in 1788.
