Wow! This is different from your usual, Marija! Such pretty soft tones and shadows - a wonderful, enigmatic self-portrait. I'm glad you didn't erase your lips this time! :)))

I don't like clothing around my neck either...so I can relate. A very creative idea you had here, and the result is beautiful.

GREAT! what a crop! Tension of the woman who bets on horses and is viewing the race. A closeup in a very overcrowded place; zooming in until everything is quiet and the we feel the hart beating. Perhaps my fantasy makes it bigger than it is; but that's my problem and joy.
Very good; my fav..... if I may say so.

great soft light and shades in this photo. I hope this one is still in time for the challenge and good luck with it as well. I like the black frame which matches your sweater, it puts all the attention to the skin and so to the hands.

Fine image Marija. I can feel the tension and the anxiety. If this an autobiographical representation, you have succeeded very well in conveying what you say in the notes. Positioning the hands in the lower right corner of the frame and the slightly open mouth at the diagonally opposite space has worked really well here. So has the black dress echoed in the black border. The soft skin tones reflect vulnerability. Wonderful.

This is a beautiful shot, Marija. The crop is original and extremely effective. Excellent skin tones and texture. I like the presentation within the wide black frame, and the white background works well here. Very impressive work.

How can we compete with such a photograph? Everything works. The hands talk to me, the tight crop is mathematically perfect. The white back drop, the black shirt, the half open lips. There is also a nice subtle diagonal created by the hands,neck & direction of the head.
Your model is fabulous. She has a very attractive neck and gorgeous lips. A true beauty. She reminds me of someone from a fairy tail. :o)

You should be elected the winner with out further due.

You seem to produce your best under pressure!

Later Addition:
VERY strong contender, M75. Classically beautiful in all respects. The crop is just so good and it is all set off SO WELL by the framing. The sideways look is perfect and the slight pp to produce a little softening glow attracts. A very nicely presented image which WILL pull in so many votes. Are you thinking of your subject for Challenge 3 yet? You should be.
LATER STILL EDIT:
I have looked at this one a few times more and this should be shown to beginners as an example of how cropping for power should be done. This is a magnificent example of composition, of subject, of meaning (emotion), and the crop is stunningly wonderful. Textbook quality.
As for your choice of frame - I'm drooling.

This is a absolutely fantastic idea for the hands challenge. We do so many things with our hands that we do not realize under certain situations... nervousness, joy, anxiety, anger, love. I loved the way you said it in your note Marija. And shot tells it so well too. The pose is perfect head looks and seems to get rid of that choked feeling, while the hands taking the collar away to opposite direction. The idea and the pose is strong and i i think the shot doesnt need to be that softened. Only my idea...

Intense presentation. Focus on the neck, partially open lips and the heavy black bordering matches the message of suffocation (if that is correct word). Great portrait of feelings. Bravo.
