IMO, the background is fine: not disturbing, natural looking. However, I think you could have been closer to them; the way it is now, their faces are too close to the top edge. But, you captured their look very naturally, the smile on that little girl, and the sparky eyes of the boy. And that, in a way, it not always easy to do! TFS!

Hi Marija,
Just as you've said, the smiles on their faces are so spontaneous and uncontrived. Such great facial expressions deserves a little enhancement by doing a lens blur to the distracting stairway. Do not let the background spoil your well-captured shot.

Great portrait. Expressions of innocence always appeals to the heart. In a way, the background is quite apposite as it could denote the climb through the years to come.

Beautiful picture of these lovely children, Marija. I am guessing that the girl is Nadia because she looks very much like you (at least from the various pictures I have seen of you as we have never met in person!!!). Very nice expression you have captured and as usual you are too hard on yourself and the background is not disturbing at all. I might have liked to see the top of their heads but it still works fine as is. The kids are just so happy that it is a pleasure to watch. Good PP treatment as well. Excellent!

What a lovely photo Marija..such beautiful children...you have captured this photo well..Spontaneous ones are so precious.. and really I like the background..even though the roughness of the concrete shows through.. it is natural.. and thats the nice thing about the whole photo. thanks for sharing..

This is a timeless classic.
The children are natural and the smiles are so genuine. You must have said something magical. What's the secret?
Your treatment is also very pleasnt, soft and tonal. Another secret? paper toner? Wotsat?
Background? Where? The strength of the subjects is enough to swallow the b/g.

I think you did too uch work with neat image, their skin is too "flat" and too soft, and that's something you shouldn't do with kids skin. Still I find it nice, this polaroid frame makes it look more 80's :)
