[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
A very old shop of a man who fixes the bicycles...I wonder why he keeps the wheels in the shop window, and I don't know why I liked that scene so much. They look like floating there behind the window glass... It reminds me a lot of 1930s for some reason.

I know it's grainy, and I did ran it through neat-image, but I think this way it looks as it actually really is - very old.

PP: straightened the white metal frames that were distorted as the window is actually quite tall, cropped, autoleveled, darkened with curves, turned to B&W,added slight sepia filter but not too much to avoid too much of the yellow, resized.

I will post another shot of the same subject, which is left in colour and neat-imaged.

Hello Marija... Lines on crowded background are great... I like them... Circles and lines are contrasting and I think that make the composition dynamic... The chosen tone works well with the mood...

Great imaginative shot, Maria !
Poetry is in this work ...

Hi Maria
On the thumbnail it looks like some boubles so I decided to see what it is. Surprise!!:-)
I love the idea.
Looks like old photo from some times of firs bikes. Fit with old shop.
Good one!!!!

I think you did it very well Marija, to keep the mood of the 30's. I like this kind of photos very much...but never made it...maybe I'm to shy to make this photos like this and photos of people like Sylvie.
My compliments for this one Marija.

Jos

Very interesting and different from what you have been posting lately, Marija (but this is a good thing as it shows your versality). I like the sepia tone on this one that seems to recreate a world gone by with the wheels that are all over the places without any logic to it. Good obversation and well done!

Hi Maria! I was first amazed by the shot itself, the unusual choice of sepia, to be more specific. I also loved the random distribution of wheels, scattered everywhere, in the background and upfront. And you managed to keep them away from the other details of the shop, which is really a good idea to avoid any eventual distraction. And I agree with Can about circles and lines,he spotted that really nicely.

The second 'wave' came after reading your note and the mentioning the '30s. I will add a decade [more or less] and say - it reminds me of the Italian classic Lardi di Bicciclete by [I think] Vittorio De Sica, a beautiful story about the role of bicicles in the life of an ordinary Italian family.

Its a great shot. You prove [again] that a real photography is like a book - it takes more than eyes to read it.

ComplimentS!

There is something strange about the aura of this shot - maybe I'm seeing it as caged movement - life behind bars, controlled chaos, something like that.

Very interesting and different, Marija. I can look at it for a long time.

Gayle

Marija, nice shot of graphic eye's delight. The grainy bit adds to the unusual sight of an old time window display.

Hey Marija, :) I'm telling you my opinion! but still can't be harsh with you!) So.....
Seems a little chaotic but the frames are making a little order. This is really a tough-nut, I don't know how I could have worked it out!!!?! On the colour version I love the little splash of the yellow colour playing on the window! I've tried a way different look at it... hope you like my piece of necklace for you!! :)) see WS!
cheers

Absolutely delightful,Marija! What a lovely composition with all those window bars and wheels! Excellent idea for the sepia filter that gives the feeling of an old picture as I like them! Very well done! Michel
