Taken on the Slovakian side of the Dunajec River Gorge. The Dunajec River is the border between Poland and Slovakia.

The Dunajec River Gorge (Polish: Przełom Dunajca) runs through the Pieniny Mountains in the south of Poland and in the north of Slovakia. The gorge is characterised by some of the most interesting geological and geomorphological structures and area-specific natural ecosystems with little anthropogenic influence. It is featured on UNESCO's Tentative List of World Heritage Sites in Poland.

The whole walk from szczawnica to Czerwony Klasztor is about 9 km long. And walking along I was thinking about Bilbo's walking song (Bilbo is the hero of The Hobbit, by J.R.R.Tolkien). I think the song, which you can find below, very appropriately describes the area of the Dunajec River Gorge.

Roads go ever ever on,
Over rock and under tree,
By caves where never sun has shone,
By streams that never find the sea;
Over snow by winter sown,
And through the merry flowers of June,
Over grass and over stone,
And under mountains of the moon.
Roads go ever ever on
Under cloud and under star,
Yet feet that wandering have gone
Turn at last to home afar.
Eyes that fire and sword have seen
And horror in the halls of stone
Look at last on meadows green
And trees and hills they long have known.
