The stories of the street are mine, the Spanish voices laugh.
The Cadillacs go creeping now through the night and the poison gas,
and I lean from my window sill in this old hotel I chose,
yes one hand on my suicide, one hand on the rose.

By Leonard Cohen, first stanza from the song Stories of the street, from the album The songs of Leonard Cohen.

Just another contribution to my continous hommage to Leonard Cohen. This photo was taken from a bridge in the pedestrian center of Bratislava (and not leaning from a window sill in a hotel).

Tech-talk: After the usual enhancing I tried a texture filter called Weave which I found in PSP9. I adjusted it to arrive it this result.

I really like the use of this filter, Per - I can't explain why, but it makes the scene so much more vivid. Nice to find another Cohen fan.

Wow, I really like this, very well done. I will have to take a look at the new patterns in PS. B

Great composition Per, nice shadows, reminds me of one of mine (unfortunately removed). Nicely placed couple and great filter.

Nice use of the filter, Per. Adds a very urban look to your shot. Excellent!

Great overhead point of view Per, and that weave pattern is excellent.

The thumbnail looked like you were shooting thru a fence, but the enlargement clearly shows the weave, well done.

Nice work, Per !
I like it !

I like this filter on this photo, it makes the figures stand out in a 3-D look somehow. The thumbnail made me think it was taken through a chain link fence, but when I opened it - I could see the pattern, but oddly, the weave didn't seem apparent to me at first, I guess my eyes focused on the black spaces and it gave me an optical illusion so that I thought I was looking through something until my eyes focused and I clearly saw the weave. Interesting experiment.

Je partage ton interêt pour Leonard Cohen... et les filles aux cheveux longs et les pantalons à fleurs.
Beau travail

Nice one in your street series, Per. Good composition with the two ladies talking so intently to each other and I really like that you captured their full shadow so there is 4 of them instead of 2. The filter adds a nice dimension and one lady seems to be on top of the filter and the other almost underneath. Well done!!!

P.S. I also really like Leonard Cohen's songs!

This is fine art, you've created, just funny done, Per !

Nice angle and shadows help which is more than I can say for the filter. It is my belief that if you add a filter or any other effect it should help the picture, I find this one detracts.
Well, everyone sees things differently!
