The House of the Rising Sun
 |
|
| [Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note |
"The House of the Rising Sun" is a folk song from the United States. Also called "House of the Rising Sun" or occasionally "Rising Sun Blues", it tells of a life gone wrong in New Orleans. The best-known rendition of the song is by the English group The Animals in 1964, which was a number one hit in both the United States and United Kingdom.
We have a version that is more "on the bright side". It's called "V Hiši Nasprot Sonca" or "House Opposite the Sun".
It goes sth like this (my terrible translation):
House opposite the sun is a home of 7 girls,
every day in a week one being my love,
there is never dark in that house,
love is keeping us awake all the time.
House opposite the sun is home of 17 kids,
half playing soccer, others listening rock.
In the house opposite the sun working isn't necessary,
Think of boredom one gets friends in seconds.
There are no walls in the house opposite the sun,
bring some wine and ticket is free,
nothing passes in the house opposite the sun
and singing birds voice become main tune.
