Rogatec - largest open-air museum in Slovenia

The museum preserves the folk architectural heritage and cultural tradition of the Obsotelje region between the 18th and 20th centuries.
This Central Štajerska farm of the subpannonian type presents domestic arts and crafts, traditions, and customs .

Fifteen different buildings and associated materials are on show and they are separated into three different sections. One section is the homestead section with an enclosed garden, a beehive, pigsties and the traditional Slovene hayrack. Typical for this type of farming house was the black kitchen, where cooking was performed in the common room, where the fire burned on the hearth and consequently, the room turned black.

here you can see another building

Hi Tsilla,
Wow, an opan air museum, I also posted something for the theme from an open air museum, but from a different cultural. I really like this week's theme, bring lot of interesting items to TL. :) Fine shot of this traditional building from Slovenia, I like the natural materials they used for the roof. Good note to accompany with, TFS!
Greetings,
Kristof

Hi Tsilla,

image from my country! You got me smiling. This is wonderful image of typical savinjska - pomurska hisa. You know that each region in Slovenia (Gorenjska, Dolenjska, Primorska, Kras, Osrednje-slovenska, Savinjska, Stajerska, Dolenjska, Prekmurje and Bela Krajina) has its own typical architecture?

Great composition and well saturated colours. Good sharpness and well seen details. :) I see that some elementary school kids had their field trip that day. :):):)

Have a nice weekend,

Stasa

Hi Tsilla,

Very interesting piece of architecture and you've captured it well. Colors, sharpness and POV are great.

Regards,
Werner

good note and perfect framed
ciao
Lucio

Hi Tsilla, Nice photo of the house. I like the combination of the bright colors of the clothing and all of the people in contrast to the old style building. We do not have thatched roofs in the U.S. I am fascinated by them. :) Lisa

Deux très beaux bâtiments de ce musée en plein air. ce genre de musée se développe dans de nombreux pays et permet de garder en souvenir l'habitat traditionnel de ces régions.
Amicalement
JJ

HI Tsilla
We both have museum today.
I have to admit that yours looks much more interesting especially the tatched roof.
WEll captured and having the people there adds to give the shot more credibility.
Dot

Hello Tsilla
Very strong architecture here. The thatched roof is very heavy and I guess that is also a room up there,
Good one for the theme
Janice

Bonjour Tsilla
