In the Tunnel
 |
|
| [Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note |
When I was driving through the Julian Alps in Slovenia, I came across this tunnel that was built in 1916. The road bed had already been cut at the time, the tunnel was along the side of the road and not cut through the mountain, and there are military ruions nearby. I surmised that this was built as some sort of fortification during the fierce fighting here along the Italian frontier during World War I. The tunnel has caved in a few places, but for the most part it's intact, and it's open to whoever wants to wander in.
The lighting isn't from flash; I was experimenting with light painting using the flashlights I had with me. The colors are due to the incandescent light (white light) and the LED spotlight (blue light) interacting with the colors of the walls (gray stone, and also some green lichen). |

I love this Christian! Now this is cool! It glows in a way! I love the blue light at the end of the tunnel! Good job on this, very interesting subject and notes!

A great experiment - a great location! - with some fantastic results.
Your speculation about the tunnel, its origins, and its history suggest that it would have some stories to tell.
Great work

Hi Christian,
We have similar tunnels like this in the philippines.
Made by the Japanese army during the world war II. Well captured
and composed of this historic tunnel.
Cheers,
Ramon
