This is Borut Soya Holland's (http://www.treklens.com/gallery/Europe/Slovenia/photo258476.htm) work redone for digital publish by me. Old SH doesn't even have an access to computer so he allowed me to help him.

This one is first from series since there are many. Original work is mostly wax on school paper 30x40cm size. I tried to make best of original work using different techniques like emphasized colours, removing paper lines etc. from photo.

His works are inspired by theory of transcendental idealism. This theory isn't outdated as one might think. I have just read some of it and it seems pretty close to sth called quantum consciousness. For those totally uninterested in philosophy let's say it's somehow close to movie MATRIX.

from wiki:

Transcendental idealism is a doctrine founded by 18th-century German philosopher Immanuel Kant. Kant presents it as the point of view which holds that our experience of things is about how they appear to us, not about those things as they are in and of themselves.

Despite its tremendous influence in much subsequent German philosophy, it was a subject of some debate amongst 20th century philosophers exactly how to interpret this doctrine, which Kant first describes in his Critique of Pure Reason. Kant distinguished his view from contemporary views of realism and idealism, but philosophers are not agreed upon what difference Kant draws. Strawson, Guyer, and Allison are the 3 most well known philosophical commentors to read on this issue.

First of all, thankyou for sharing this man's work and philosophy. I find his work beautiful, colorful, organic, and expressive, even though he is inspired by a philosophy that is at best a very structural Western liberal philosophy by none other than Kant. Although I do not agree with all of Kant's views or approaches to certain issue I definitely think the idea of perception and how humans cannot escape from seeing things with a certain "bias" or "angle" is really fascinating.
The photo is balanced and good quality, it reveals the textures and different brush strokes he used. Can you please explain how exactly he used the wax in this? The black frame ties in all the accents of black in the paiting itself and creates wonderful unity. Although taking shots of paintings is not very conventional for photography I think this is worth looking at and considering for sure. Thanks for sharing!

Hi Jure,
You managed to reproduce/enhance to very rich colours. For the painting itself, with the variations on the theme of the eye/iris/reflection of the outerreality inside credit should go to your friend. So part of the :) is for Soya.
Regards,
Tibi
