The only fault I can see with this photo is the horizon is tilted slightly. Other than that, you nailed it!

You captured the action of the waves, the fisherman tending to his lines and the birds. Your DOF is spot on, rendering the foreground and background slightly out of focus and the fisherman nice and sharp.

I really like the shades of gray on display, from near black in the lower right to near white in the upper left. I especially like the layers of gray in the background.

the line of the waves leads you into the pic and carries you to the angler. you have used b/w to good advantage.
