I remember this flower street vendor from way back when I traveled to Torremolinos, Spain, on the Costa del Sol. Those were student days... I spent a month in Torremolinos, out of a 3 month vacation through Europe. I saw this man very often: always, smiling, singing, and a basket full of flowers.
I used to shoot slide film in those days with two Asahi Pentaxes, that I still own - although, I never use them. I scanned the slide, corrected a stain that was on the slide, removed some of the color cast, and corrected the excess yellow of the face - made a mask around the vendor with the lasso tool (now, that was the l - o - n - g part) so that I could isolate him from the background to make him stand out more using lens blur. Did some Unsharp Mask of the final work, et voilą. |

I love slide film. Nice shot. It is difficult to imitate the detail that one can get from slide film in the digital realm. Good job.
