[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
My wife and I have just spent a week on Tenerife in the Canarian Islands. Among many other photos taken I have a series of impressions from the balcony outside our hotel room. This is the first one of that series which was in fact also the last one taken before heading back yesterday morning. The star is not a star but Venus "the evening star", and the shooting star is a piece of Christmas decoration on the hotel roof.

Technically it was of course a tripod shot taken just when the last light was still on the western horizon. I used the night scenery setting of the camera and have only rotated and trimmed slightly before resiting and uploading. Oh yes, noisefiltering was also necessary.

Nice composition, Per! Very different, showing just enough of everything to create a mood. It also has a "modern" touch that I like. I wasn't too sure about the palms on the right edge, but after consideration, I think they are OK where they are since every object in this picture is on the edge. Great shot!

Two stars in a photo, my dear friend !
I like your composition ...

This is such an unusual POV & composition that it becomes very interesting and certainly is very creative. Venus is the sky is an added bonus! Beautiful colours & light and everything is at the right place in this picture. Well done!

Welcome back, Per. I like the way you framed this one, and I also like the way you captured Venus too. Beautiful blue hues in the sky, the contrast with the warm hues of the hotel is excellent. TFS.
