| Don Quixote de la Mancha is a famous book, written in 1605 - 1615 by Miguel de Cervantes y Saavedra. Don Quijote had a horse named Rosinante and went fighting against the wind mills of la Mancha, the high plateau in central Spain. Wind mills is samething very old, and they were of course used for making flour from the seed. We had them everywere, where it was windy. Unfortunately I could not find a better photo of Don Quijote (Quixote is the old spanish spelling) than this one, taken in a window in Toledo, Spain. |
