This is Burgos' Cathedreal. On my way back to Porto, from the Picos de Europa I made a little detour to go past Burgos.
The Cathedral is an imponent piece of Gothic art and I am showing it here in a common angle but with a distinctive light and sky that I was lucky to catch that day. There was a very nice marriage going on just below the place I shot this photo from.
Our Lady of Burgos was begun in the 13th century at the same time as the great cathedrals of the Ile-de-France and was completed in the 15th and 16th centuries. The entire history of Gothic art is summed up in its superb architecture and its unique collection of works of art, including paintings, choir stalls, reredos, tombs and stained-glass windows.
P.P. Separated the sky to treat it in separate and increase the contrast for a more dramatic effect. Curves, HSB, USM.
Hope you like it, comments are welcome. |

Nice photo, and atmosphere. it is like in the movies.
Wow! Unbelievable photo! The sky contrasting with the cathedral looks amazing. And the birds are just the icing on the cake. I'm not sure if you isolated the birds separately from the sky in PP, but they kind of look fake. Too orange, I think. Otherwise, great photo!

That's great too, I love your El Greco influence, or is it Goya? Could use more monumentality though - that has to do with scale, we architects know that, but the mood here impressive. Janos
