FOR THE COFFEE CHALLENGE

I’m on my second cup of coffee and I still can’t face the day
I’m thinking of the lady who got lost along the way
And if I don’t stop this trembling hand from reaching for the phone
I’ll be reachin’ for the bottle, lord, before this day is done
(first stanza of the song Second Cup of Coffee by Gordon Lightfoot)

Well, today is February 8, I had an obligation to meet, it is almost coffee time, and the song I quote was always one of my favorites by a great Canadian singer/songwriter.

Technically this is once again filters applied to an original colour photo. It is not as easy as it looks but I really wanted to have a go at a cartoon/caricature. Hope you like it.

Well done! Great job using the filters to get this effect.

Just one more cup
and then I'll stop
Looking ahead
I'm not afraid
No competition
but a challenge instead

A picture with a lot of character, ideally cropped and well processed. My first impression was of Father Damian ;)
Well done Per ! TFS

I feel a prairy mood in here; the man in the early morning made his coffee before the caravan goes on. With Morricones music it would be perfect.
Thanks Per

Hi Per,

This is great! I can see you overlooking the sea or mountains whilst enjoying your coffee here. Well done on the PP. Nice work indeed

I haven't yet read what others said...but I like it. It's a nice effect suitable for this portrait!

Excellent! I like the pen and ink effect as you've used it here, Per.

Good luck!
Gayle :)

I do like it. I do. I do.
A filter can only work well if the original is worthy. This works well, it's original. Well done, deserves another cup in your honour.
Karen

Nice, artistic, interesting shot, b&w, great detail.

Tom

Hei Per,
Original... Well composed... Drawing like effect well applied! Interesting...
Regards,
Pablo -

Very well done! I like the PP effect you have created here - not overwhelming, just right, with the large area of plain white where the cup is - draws focus to the cup.

Superb

Very artisitc and creative Per ...well done on the pp here , looks like a natural sketch to me

Leon

I love the light tones here, and the graphism present in the lines and sketching. NIce work, Per! good luck!

Hi Per, great pp on this one, came out super looks just like a sketch, very nicely composed.
Christine.

Good entry for the challenge Per. I like that you took your self portrait for this. The process is brilliant in more words than one. I like the outline touch. Nice to see a human element in this challenge. Well done.

Hello Per,

You applied this filter with very good sence, it is so sharp, so missleading - is it really a photo?: we could count the number of hair you have in your beard ;o)

The tight composition is also well cropped, I feel the taste of the coffee in my mouth.

Congrats and TFS!

Cheers,
Marcie

Beautiful. Simplicity... yet well executed PP work to obtain that simplicity. Great artwork, Per. Love it.
