[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
Until recent years, El Raval was a district that many Barceloneses stayed away from. Riddled with crime and prostitution, it was a largely neglected neighbourhood. Now all that has changed. The glistening MACBA (Museo de Arte Contemporánea de Barcelona) is a temple to modern art and has injected the area with a strong dose of culture. Other cultural institutions, like FAD, a city-supported group dedicated to design in its many aspects, are based here too.
All that art and culture has left its mark on El Raval.
Wandering its maze-like streets you'll notice the thoughtful street art, the artists' workshops and the dozens of artisan shops. The atmosphere here also reflects the variety of its inhabitants. El Raval is Barcelona's most diverse barrio; nearly half of those living here were born outside Catalunya, and the immigrants from Africa, the Middle East and South America have given this area a unique energy.
El Raval is home to some of Barcelona's best alternative cafés. Places like Mobles Navarra, decorated with all used furniture, and Bar Fortuny, a low-key bar with great lunches, attract an artsy, bohemian crowd that gathers to discuss the topics of the day.

He... je vais aller visiter le site Hospital et je reviens. ... à plus.

Il y a une superbe photo dans la section fotografia, comme j'aimerais en faire une (pas pour TL), à part des dessins et tout ce qui compose l'hopital - belle allusion. C'est très bien.

J'aime ta photo, c'est franchement bon. Puis j'aime ce genre de scène de rue ou on y mélange l'art ou même la publicité quand c'est recherché. Le carrelage apporte beaucoup à la photo, c'est ce qui m'a attiré en premier parmi les couleurs, puis j'ai cherché les petits détails du comptoir. Il y a de la perspective aussi, avec les vélos à l'avant plan et on se demande si la fresque du haut est à plat ou fait angle. En somme on a plein les yeux. Bonne note aussi.

Bizarre ce mur aveugle au-dessus de la buvette. La compo horizontale est inhabituelle du coup. Et comme dit Marie, il se passe plein de choses dans ta photo. On y découvre tout un univers : les gens qui sont accoudés au comptoir, le mur de gauche avec sa peinture colorée de type "carte postale" et le grand panneau de tags au dessus de tout ce petit monde.
le truc marrant c'est que si l'on coupe en deux ta photo, la partie inférieure continue de vivre sa vie toute seule.
Comme on dit : cet un bon cliché de rue.

I like your Barcelona photos, Sylvie - unfortunately I was only there for a one-week business trip so far during which I did not see much of the city. This one I like for the candid street atmosphere, with the light emerging from inside the food stand, and the motorcycles parked in front of the graffiti-sprayed house. Well captured.

A late discovery of this picture.
Indeed, when I first wandered the streets of Barca (I believe in 77) this was a randy neighbourhood which had its own charms. In many ways Barcelona has changed for the better, while in the meantime it preserved its character (unlike my hometown where breaking and replacing is "bon-ton" nowadays :-( )

Si je te dis de nouveau que cette photo est excellente comme photo d'ambiance qu'en penseras tu ? Elle est complète et ne fait qu'une . Ce que dit pridel est peut être valable et marrant mais on pourrait dire aussi que si on coupe ta photo en 4 ce serait marrant aussi car chaque partie raconte qq chose. Mais c'est beaucoup plus marrant de la laisser comme elle est.
