On Tenerife you will often discover that when it is cloudy on the coast, it is enough to drive up through the clouds to Mount Teide, the highest point in Spain at 3712 meters above sea level, to see the sun again. And coming down that mountain again is also quite an experience. At this point we stopped just before re-entering the clouds and tried to catch a mood that reminded me a bit of the view you sometimes get from airplanes.

I rotated and cropped and enhanced slightly before resizing and sharpening.

Beautiful picture, Per. Your POV and composition is just perfect and I love those clouds that seem to go on forever and how we see the trees and then they seem to slowly disappear in the fog. Excellent!

What a lovely sight...the blue sky and the soft cottony clouds and then the dark trees peeking up through the mist. Absolutely beautiful. I like the layered effect, it is like a geology specimen sliced through coloured rocks, only this is sliced through the climate...that sounds weird, but "I" know what I mean...LOL! Anyway congrats on this great composition.

This is a very spectacular view,Per! Very unique and wonderful shot! Bravo! Michel

that's impressive the feeling you have looking at this picture, very good.

I have never seen a view like this! It must have been breathtaking in real if I can judge by your shot! It's weird because we see the trees above the clouds. Now, is there too much sharpening showing in the foreground? Thanks for sharing this one, Per!

Amazing photo Per! i just love above-the-clouds shots!

Beautiful contrasts and colors! Well done, TFS,
Fran

Fabulous content and 'control'.
I'll have to return later, no medals left, but had to stop and congratulate you on your good fortune for being there in the first place, for having the presence of mind to be carrying your camera and for presenting us with a wonderful 'uplifting' scene.

Dear Per, simple short critique. A masterpiece ! I wonder though where the reflections on the first tree come from. Absolutely stunning !!! Very well done. Yours, Jan

Can there be any more mood !? This is brilliant work ! keep it up.

That's amazing per, the trees are merging with the clouds, Escher style!

Bravo

Marco

Wow! This is a breathtaking view Per. I can imagine the feeling you must have experienced being in this location and seeing this view. What more can I say, it is spectacular. I'm lost for words. Great composition, colours and enhancement. Well done, and congratulations my friend! This will go into my favourites theme. Thanks Per.
I once experienced a similar view when I was on top of a mountain in Austria (1969) and I was 'above' the clouds looking down. Thanks for the memory.

If you get a view like this from a plane, I hope you're wearing your seatbelt, Per ;o)).
A beauty... Excellent control of the light, which wasn't easy for your meter, I guess... I love it. Could be a nice start for some paint filters too, I think.
TFS, TFS².

Amazing view! We can see obove the cloud canopy and to the forest surface, well done.

Wow Per, a really amazing shot! The trees are very nice, in silhouette and every row becomes smaller and smaller. About the fog I can only say, you have to be there when it's happening, but then again, you have to see it too. What a very nice spot to be, lucky you!
See you again, Richard

Hi Per, a real nice one you have here. Taken in the right spot and at the CAPITAL moment. It's like being in an airplane. Congratulations.

Many times we see a sea of clouds from the top of a mountain, but this one is very unusual as we can see the forest disapearing slowly into it. That's an amazing scenery very well composed. The proportion between the three part - trees, clouds, sky - is very great.
