[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
At the southern tip of Tenerife there is a cliff called Los Gigantes which rises almost 500 meters vertically from the sea. The cliff is 15 kilometers long and excursion ships like the one seen in the photo take tourists out to spot dolphins and birds and occasionally even whales and generally enjoy the scenery. Sailing next to a half kilometer tall wall is an experience that does put all your senses to the test.

This photo was difficult to present. After many tries I ended up just resizing and adjusting the contrast slightly. Anything else I tried did funny things to the structure of the cliff. I have posted a more natural sideways shot of the cliff as workshop.

A real big cliff with a tiny boat compared to it ... very well seen, Per !
Sylvie

Wow! A very big cliff indeed Per, A good shot and great idea to include the boat to show the rock faces scale. Good capture.

John

... and we still can't see the top of it!
Nah! This is a regular size cliff and it's a model boat. ;)
I'll take a look at your WS.

Hello. Nice presepctive. Great catch. Here we can see how insignificant we are. Good shot!!

Wow - wonderfully composed - full length of 800 pixels used to the optimum to get the impact. I would be scared sitting on that boat - like a Gaul fearful of sky falling on his head. Well done Per

Hi Per !
Excellent photo, gives the Los Gigantes dimension size, the boat is the key element !
I have been in this beautiful place.
All the best,
Rui

Hello Per,

Must have been difficult indeed, Per...as you didn't even straighten the horizon ;o). Are those white spots gulls ? The boat does look very "mini" compared to the rock.
TFS.

Dear Per,
wonderful compositional shot. As you know without the ship no comparison for dimensions. Double thumbs up! Very well done. Yours, Jan

Great composition. I like that there is so much of the cliff showing.
