[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
This beach is called Playa de las Arenas and is situated in Puerto de Santiago on the western side of Tenerife. It is also know as the black beach because of the black sand which is nothing but lava ground to sand by centuries of washing waves. Tenerife has a few beaches like this but this is the best known. And since generally there are few sandy beaches on the island, hotels and holidayappartments are standing shoulder to shoulder around the ones to be found. This is no exception. The cliff in the backgroun is Los Gigantes which I showed in a post a few days ago.

Technically this one was downsized using a gentle downsizing tool, and efter that clarified a bit (step 2) and sharpened.

I like how you took the shot from underneath of the palm tree, it creates nice outlook. Also the building looks a little abstract, especially the top part.
Altogether, good picture.

Well framed, Per. When we visited Santorini we stayed at Kammari, which also has black sand... a beach of about 8 km, if I recall correctly ;o). Nicely framed and very sharp, without being oversharpened. TFS.

The hotel looks very expensive. I like the composition very much, it shows the Hotel the black beach and part of the view to be seen from the hotel.

Nice composition and a great view of an interesting beach of black sand. Isn't is strange how unappealing the black sand is, compared to the white or yellow sand when the sea reflects the blue of the sky. With the dark sands the sea appears dark also, and not at all like the typical beach shots. The hotel looks lovely. TFS

Hi Per, I was there on vacation this year. You chose good POV. Fantastic sharpness even a bit to good. I would prefere this shot with frame.
