Hello my TL friends!
This picture was taken in the Botanical Garden in Visby, it was a sunny autumn day, a beautiful day for walking and taking pictures.
About the Botanical Garden:
DBW. The Society of "De Badande Vännerna" (the Bathing Friends), was formed on 9 July 1814 by a few forward thinking men in the community who
often met up for a refreshing swim in the sea in Visby. The socitey wanted to encourage a stimulating and strengthening outdoor life and something wholesome for the public, as well as protecting Visby´s unique beauty and middle-aged character. DBW:s botanical garden was founded 1855 after a suggestion by Headmaster Hans Petter Gustavsson, who wanted the next generation to be brought up whith a tangible knowledge about nature. The garden quicly become a favoured place for walks. In the beginning the garden was used mainly for trading as the garden contained a large selection of fruit and park trees, bushes, asparagus and other edible plants. Gardening was also taught there. In the early 1930´s the garden underwent a thorough redevelopment and grew inte what it is today. Apart from the botanical garden, the DBW society also own the grees area north of the garden.
