Hi,

I took this image last year when on a visit to Sweden, and have only just got round to seeing how I could present it. One thing you notice in Sweden is the amount of forest there is, and when you visit the forests, as you do, you cannot help but notice the diversity of flora, fauna and especially fungai. I got carried way shooting mushrooms and have loads of images of different varities. I thought that once home it would be an easy job to identify them, but it didn't turn out to be so easy. So I have loads of quality images, which are very good from a descriptive point of view, but arn't really up to much aesthetically.
However, since I've found neat image, I have started to see what I can be achieved with these images, and this is one of the first results. It is quite a close crop, the original image being centered on the main mushroom. So I cropped to offset this, but still wanted to include the mushroom on the right. Increase saturation and adjusted curves. I put the image thro neat image to reduce the compression noise which was present in the background, before adding border, sharpening and resizing for TL.
I like the deep greens, the vertical mushroom standing tall, and the blurred background. Overall I think it is a very pleasing image. Hope you do too,
Take Care,
John

Hi Johnny,
You've done a spendid job with an overall pleasant view. The colors came out well and I like the cropping to display the main subject on the left. The blurring in the background works well for this also.
