So it is guessing time again. Does anyone of you reqognize this? It is a thing with a total weight of a few hundred kilos that is a detail of something with a total weight of a few thousand tons.

I put it down under "Daily life" as this thing is important to your daily lifes even though you never think about it. And for me it is daily life, thats a clue.

Another clue, this thing gives a lot of freedom.

Ok, it is a sliding pot bearing under a bridge. In the ring shaped container behind the arrow there is a confined high quality rubber pad that gives the bridge end freedom to rotate a little under load and on top of that there is a sliding surface made of stainless steel and PTFE (Teflon) that gives freedom for movement in the direction of the bridge when the temperature goes up and down. And the scale is put there so we can see if there are any movements in the foundations and it is in millimeters. Did you guess the right thing?

No, Ebbe, I didn't, never saw one like this before.
Thanks for the graphical photo, the good frame and the good note. And the well ballanced composition.

Wow, I actually got it right, my guess i mean. Not in so many descripting word and precice accuracy but still. My guess was, something to messure the movment of a bridge in some way...????? mabye... Not that i have ever seen one before but knowing sort of what you are working with....gave me a clue. (When are you coming down to GBG by the way, for the tunnel thing?)

For this shot i really like the centered composition. I would not want to have it in any other way here. It's also sharp (which i think we should be greatfull for, no motion blur here please :))

No, i didn't get that..: ) i like this engineering detail and the clean lines with the red triangle nicely centred below them. Nice puzzle!

I got it right Ebbe! I like your note. Great detail as well. I like the way it is centered also.

I did not guess it, Ebbe, but given your "daily life" clue I at least had a vague wondering whether it might be related to bridges in some way - oh well ... You made a nice graphical and well-contrasted photograph from this detail, and I guess this is going to be one of the rare cases where nobody will be calling for an off-centered composition ;o)

Let me guess without reading the notes -

Its a bridge - oh you just wrote it - too bad I would have won the price ;-)

It’s made in order to follow the bridge movement during winter and summer.
(Oh you make it too easy) thanks for a new idea for TL - riddles.

Fine shot and well spotted Ebbe.

:-D Thanks for giving the answer below - I would never guess it of course...
I like very much the graphical design of it, as well as the colours. FRaming is excellent and suits the composition perfectly!

Well , not quite to be honest! LOL excellent compo and choice . i love it!

I wouldn't guess, Ebbe, though I now that it must be something from your bridge enginnering world.
I like the red triangle and the b/w ruler. The contrast is excellent, and composition is very original. Very well done.
