A closeup shot of Segellogger "Vegesack" BV2.

As far as I have found out, this is a boat (yacht?) that is at the same time a lugger and a motor ship. (Those who are interested in boats, please correct my info). It was built in 1895.

I saw it in Stockholm near Slussen.
This is the place where lots of various boats - big ships, yachts (both small and big) come from different parts of the world.
Some boats are "regular visitors" and I see them at Slussen every year. Some are rare visitors...

I have several different photos of "Vegesack", but I chose this one. I may post another one next time.

Hello Elena,

pleased to find you here!
...and pleased you like boats - my passion.
About this old boat, I'll try to add my two pence. I'm not familiar with the English (or Swedish) nautical terminology but my Longman dictionary says: "lugger, a small boat with one or more sails." Now this one is far from being small (it should be around 16-18 m) and furthermore it has two masts. I can't see the height of the second mast (in the other picture you posted) but it's likely it is a schooner, probably used for fishing and then transformed into a yacht. And of course nowadays all sailing yachts have an engine but you can't call them "motor ship".
Anyway I do like your photo, full of light and interesting details.
Best greetings,
Donato
