Hi,

This is the forth image in my series from my recent Scandanavian trip and shows the forest at Lake Askesjon, where we were lucky enough to stay for two wonderful weeks in a lovely cottage overlooking the lake. This was the scene from the garden of the cottage at 7.20 one morning, with the lake being almost perfectly still and reflecting the tall spruce trees and the strong line of the shoreline very well.

This lake holds many monster fish, and whilst we were there a 19kilo pike was caught on a spinning lure. The kids swam daily in this lake, and I didn't like to tell them the size of the fish that the lake holds, as I didn't want to put them off going into the water. The sight of a 19kilo pike would have certainly put them off going into the water. You never know what lies beneath tranquil waters!!!!!!!

Thanks so much for your visits and kind comments re the earlier postings.........more to follow,

take care, and beware of the pike!

John

Good afternoon John

What an outstanding capture, really sharp, beautiful colours and a great reflection. Wonderful POV and stunning scene. If I had one thing to say might improve it would be to have either the trees themselves or the reflection of them showing in full,....but to be fair that is just personal opinion and being picky.

TFS this beautiful scene and I look forward to many more

regards Helen

Sharpness and colour are great, beautiful reflection to.

Lovely reflections and good handling of exposure and sharpness details.

complimenti per il paesaggio naturalistico di questa foto...bello il contrasto e la luce...
niente male il riflesso degli alberi sul lago
nice shot

Beautiful shot - I love the understated metering, the subdued colours. It gives a real sense of peace - false peace, it would seem, with those killer pike ready to leap from the water like Jaws at any given moment! Hehe.
My only tiny niggle is the slightly skewed shoreline, personally I think it needs to be perfectly level in a shot like this.
Great work
