Monteliusvägen is a small walkway along the cliffs on the north side of Södermalm, known as the Söder Cliffs (I think). I read the other day that this is a good place to watch fireworks from on NYE, and I can certainly see how that might be.

The spire on the right is Riddarholmskyrkan (kyrkan = church) and the ship on the left is the Mälardrottningen.

We live towards the south of Södermalm, and this afternoon walked up the main street running through the centre of Södermalm, Götgatan, up to Monteliusvägen and then through some of the back streets, back to Götgatan. The area on top of the Söder Cliffs is very pretty, very old. The place to go in Stockholm to feel historical is really Gamla Stan, but if you want to view similar architecture, the same cobbled streets and get the feeling of the age of the place without the constant bustling of tourists and the hundred of shops selling keyrings and teatowels, I'd highly recommend a walk around the streets to the north of Södermalm.

The lighting/tones and reflections are what I like about this shot. The horizon or the water line could probably have been kept closer to the top and bottom thirds, but I didn't want to cut off the top of the spire or the reflections in the water.

Beautiful colors in a nice nocturnal shot. The lights are well defined. A nice landscape.

Very beautiful view of the Swedish Capital. I lived there for some years and it took a long time until I stopped missing it. But I love to go back now and then..
